Science Technology Engineering Mathematics

AAUW-Anacortes sponsors STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs for girls at Anacortes Middle School and Anacortes High School. Students are nominated by teachers and counselors for programs that include Tech Trek Camp for 7th graders and scholarships for seniors who are pursuing STEM careers.

Tech Trek

The one-week summer camp is designed around STEM careers to increase interest, excitement and self-confidence in young women who will enter the eighth grade in the fall. It features hands-on learning and focuses on current hot topics for career exploration. The camp is located on a college campus using dorms, laboratories, recreation and dining facilities. Our branch solicits funds from local businesses that wish to support STEM careers.
